Davao Writers Guild in 2010: a video retrospective

At the request of Ric de Ungria, our past Guild president, I put together this video presentation together. I confess that I elected to use Windows Live Movie Maker for the project, in part because I wanted to learn it, and in part because I thought that the free software equivalents wouldn't have as many nifty features yet.

After the initial struggle with the interface, I got more comfortable with the program and discovered its strengths and limitations. The movie above is the result. I'm happy enough with the output. WLMM gives just the basic features and doesn't overwhelm the novice user. It probably wouldn't cut it for advanced users, though.

For my next project, I will go for Open Movie Editor and Pitivi.
