SEee-sick

Don't get me wrong, I love my Asus EeePC. It's light and it's handy, which is what makes it great for travelling. But after a whole week staring at the Internet through its tiny 7" screen at 800x480 resolution? Well, let's just say the 12" screen of my ancient Thinkpad is a VERY refreshing change.

  1. Maybe it's time you upgraded your eee? That' what Art did which is why I ended up with his old unit.

I've seen the Eee 900 and I have to admit the extra 2 inches did make a huge difference. :)

  2. Heh. Maybe I will. Hard to think I'll be letting go of almost P9,000 of value, though.

  3. I would think that you would have chosen an Intel Atom based unit. I have had friends of Sari give their opinions on various UMPCs and their verdict was that the new ACER UMPC has an edge over the HP Mini-note, if only for the CPU.

I, on the other hand, bought an LBM &%inkpad so don't suffer from tunnel vision...yet

  4. Yeah, but I bought the EeePC last January. I agree, though: the Aspire One is probably the best on the market now.

  5. Really? The Aspire One? I've been seeing that in shops and debating on which of the new ones to get if I had the money. The ones I liked are the MSI Wind, the HP Mini (only because I had a chance to get one), and the smaller Eee 900. Though I have seen the bigger Eee 1000. Any review on that?

  6. Hi, Joey: form-wise, the MSI Wind and HP Mini-note might look nice. However, their processors are really quite underpowered. The Aspire One and the S10 have way better specs. The Eee 900's price has come down drastically, but it has some power drain issues, even when the computer is off.
