Song of Iroh

Leaves from the vine
Falling so slow
Like fragile tiny shells
drifting in the foam

Little soldier boy
come marching home
Brave soldier boy
comes marching home

This is the song sung in one particularly touching episode of Avatar: The Legend of Aang, Tales of Ba Sing Se.

The segment was dedicated to Mako, original voice actor for Iroh, who died of esophagal cancer.

  1. You watch The Avatar, too? The new season will be shown this coming September 21. :-) Just thought I'd give you a heads up in case you don't know yet.

  2. Only from time to time...I'm really more of a Fairly Oddparents kind of guy. ;-)

I still have to get up-to-speed on all the developments of Avatar. Waiting on the, er, complete collection. If you get my meaning. ;-)

  3. The kids love that show so much they've been on all-Avatar weekends watching on the DVD. That's our favorite song from that show. I say "our" because the sillier ones were coming out of my ears and I had to find a way to limit their singing, at the top of their lungs, songs like, "Secret tunneeeeellll...through the mountaaaaaains...secret,secret,secret,secret tunneeeeellll...." They'll be very pleased to hear about Sept 21.
Dom, no wonder you guys get along so well. :-) Their favorite song-of-the-moment, sung in 2-part harmony, is "My Shiny Teeth and Me (shiny teeth, shiny teeth :-)"

  4. Er, what's that you said? DVD? Hmmm....!

He he, I get along better with kids than I do with adults (or those who think they're adults.)

    Adults is boring.

  5. In case you're interested, you can watch the latest episodes at
Book III Chapter 1 is already up. Good season opener. Aang with hair, :D.
